Managing Partner, R & D Law Chambers LLP | Dual-qualified lawyer (India and England & Wales) | ADIT, Chartered Institute of Taxation, London
Ravish Bhatt is the Managing Partner of R & D Law Chambers LLP, Ahmedabad. He is an Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council of Gujarat and a dual-qualified lawyer admitted in England and Wales, and holds the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) from the Chartered Institute of Taxation, London. He advises exclusively on Indian law, for businesses in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Australia, the Middle East and elsewhere, wherever a matter has an India connection. |
Practice
His practice covers international taxation and cross-border tax disputes, international and domestic commercial arbitration, EPC and FIDIC-form contracts, corporate and company law, insolvency proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal, and commercial litigation before the High Court of Gujarat and other forums.
The combination of Indian and English qualification is directly relevant to the work. Cross-border matters frequently pair an English or foreign-law contract with Indian assets, Indian counterparties and Indian enforcement. Advising on how an Indian court or tribunal will treat that structure requires command of the Indian statutory framework and a working understanding of the foreign instrument that produced it.
He read instrumentation and control engineering before law, and applies that systems training to contract architecture, technical evidence in EPC and infrastructure disputes, and the construction of legal argument.
